Started diet program and gaining weight!?

about a week ago i started a Healthy Eating Program and exercise, i’m drinking 64 + ounces of cold water a day over the course of the day, eating fruits veggies and lean proteins and i’m GAINING weight. I’ve gained 5 pounds in the last week.

Before starting this i was a diuretic junkie to eliminate the water weight and to maintain my weight under control, now ive given up on the diuretics and drastically increased my water intake, but im not losing weight, i’m gaining it.

WHY? ANyone else ever suffer this? I heard that it takes time for the body to adjust and there might be an initial weight gain before losing it, but is that accurate? What am i doing wrong?

P.S. dont say its muscle because its not!

well since you were a diruetic junkie, the extra weight is probably due to your body re-hydrating.

Secondly, yeah sure youre eating healthy foods… but are you eating truckloads of veggies and fruits? Just because its healthy stuff, doesnt mean you can eat salads the size of a house!

Keep portions under control, and stop eating when you are satisfied… not full.
