Overview
The heart of the Cambridge Diet™ is a low-calorie meal replacement shake plan. The manufacturer advertises the shakes as delicious and low-fat. The Cambridge Diet™ claims to provide all of the nutrition of a normal meal without the calories. In other words, the dieter receives a balanced combination of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and vitamins. In other words, it takes the guesswork out of dieting. In addition to their shakes, the manufacturer offers nutrition bars as part of their meal replacement system. The Cambridge Diet™ also encourages a healthy lifestyle. They provide the dieter with information on how to establish long term goals such as recipe books and motivational literature.
Ingredients at a Glance
The Cambridge Diet™ offers a variety of flavors so that the dieter isn’t locked in to one choice. Their flavors range from Caramel to Strawberry. They also offer soups, cereals, and nutrition bars that come in a variety of flavors.
Ingredients in Focus
Specific information about the exact ingredients was not available, but manufacturers do offer a table of nutrition. That is, on their website they have available information such as the amount of protein, vitamins, etc. Cambridge Diet™ shakes come in Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Eggnog, and Cappucino and average 140 calories per serving. These can be mixed with pretty much anything you’d like, but be aware the caloric value may change. The Cambridge Diet™ soup flavors are Chicken, Mushroom, Potato, and Tomato. The nutrition bars come in flavors such as Chocolate Strawberry, Coconut, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Caramel. Finally, they offer Super Oats® which can be used to make delicious favorites such as Oatmeal, Pancakes, and Muffins.
Positives
• It provides all the necessary nutrients to make the Cambridge Diet™ a healthy meal.
Negatives
• There isn’t much information available about the ingredients in the Cambridge Diet™.
• It isn’t healthy to eliminate food from the diet altogether, one must learn to balance meal replacements with food.
• Meal replacement flavors are often bland and grow old.
Final Thoughts
Meal replacement plans do work in many instances, but can get old really fast. The manufacturer claims that one will never grow tired of the flavors, but unfortunately this simply isn’t true. One can only take so much chocolate and peanut butter. There is nothing wrong with the plan itself, but taste is an important factor. Sampling the product first ought to be important, before spending hundreds of dollars on something you might regret. There are countless meal replacement shakes on the market and most of them leave a lot to be desired.
If losing weight is your priority, you may also want to consider the use of a weight loss supplement. Consider one which encompasses a fat-burning ingredient and an ingredient to help control hunger.

It’s right up there with lighterlife for the difficulty factor! I lost five stone a few years back with help from my GP (prescribed Xenical) and I also used Trim Right, a herbal supplement that suppresses appetite and increases metabolism. I’ve kept the weight off (check out my 360) but it hasn’t been easy! I hope the Cambridge Diet works for you but be prepared for hunger pangs. Very best of luck to you and the first answer is correct – keep your eyes on the prize – you’ll feel fantastic once the weight starts to come off x

My OH is on this diet and has lost a stone in 4 weeks. Whilst not a fan of faddy diets, this one has worked so far. However what you must bear in mind is that whilst following the plan you will need to be 100% dedicated, i.e. drop the alcohol and don’t tempt yourself with treats on the premise that you will get back on track later. It is hard work !
You need also to combine this plan with an exercise regime to maximise the results. My only concern with these diets is when you come off them – the dedication must remain and you must not get back into old and bad habits when it comes to food, drink and exercise.

Hi there my name is Chris, Male and 25 years old. All through my life my weight has been up and down. I decided to go on the Cambridge Diet about a year ago and it was such a fantastic diet. I lost 3 stones in just over 6 weeks. I was on the Sole Source of the diet whereby i drink 3 shakes per day. Some days i would miss out a drink or two due to the fact that it never made mehungry and i would be busy doing other things although this is not adviseable. You cannot eat anything or drink anything apart from water. I used to drink still water, sparkling water, boiling water etc but never flavoured water or chewing gum etc. My Cambridge Counsellor even advised against the water flavouring you can buy from them. Although you will not gain weight with this it will however delay you losing weight. They say drink 4 litres of water a day but i used to drink at least 8 litres of water per day as "the more you drink, the more you shrink" this is the moto. I only felt hungry on my first 3 daysof the diet. What you should do is buy Keto Stix from the chemist they only cost a couple of quid for 50 of them. That way you can test yourself to make sure you are in ketosis (fat burning mode). Goodluck and i hope you are successful. I was losing 7lbs every single week with no sign of slowing down. You should try looking on the cambridge diet website for inspirational slideshows of before and after pics, you can also check http://www.minimins.com with is a free forum to use and talk to other people who are on the diet to give each other tips etc, it is an excellent website and i frequently visit it myself. Havea look. I went off the dietand the weight started going back on again just as it would with any other diet, the reason why is because i never changed my eating habits. Im going back on my diet on Monday and i cant wait, it is so successful. I am very impatient and i cant be bothered withthis losing a few pounds per week, i like to se fast results. I would like to keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. My email address is: christopherguy25@yahoo.co.uk
