Fat Burning Weight Loss Capsules, Do They Work?

March 31st, 2010 No comments

There are many ways of losing weight and getting rid of fat, but the most popular and the easiest is taking fat burning weight loss capsules. Unlike exercise and diet regimens, they offer a faster effective way of losing weight without a huge change in usual eating habits.

With the seemingly endless supply of new weight loss programs out there, you can alos find a wide range of effective weight loss pills that you can choose from. These can go from prescription drugs to the latest natural weight loss products that are supposed to have the same effect and offer a safer alternative. So how do you find the most effective and preferably inexpensive weight loss capsules for you?

As always, the first question you need to ask when it concerns your health is: What are the dangers of weight loss capsules?

You need to be aware that the drugs you take to improve your health also have side effects. Even natural weight loss pills can still have adverse effects if not taken properly or if taken by people with allergic reactions to specific ingredients in the capsules . This can cause severe reactions in some people that can be extremely dangerous to their health.

No matter what type of pill or product, natural or synthetic, you plan to take to lose weight, you really should discuss it with your doctor first. Ensure that your health won’t be endangered in any way. In particular, if you have any other health issues that need to be discussed, do so with a doctor before trying out the latest weight loss pills by yourself. If possible, bring a sample of the weight loss capsules you are planning to take for your doctor to examine. They usually list the ingredients in their containers which may help the doctor spot any potential dangers to your health if you take them. Make sure to discuss allergies if you have any.

Anyway, you are going to have to go through your doctor with prescription drugs, so it would be a wise decision to talk about all the alternatives before deciding on what’s best for you.

However, there has also been many people who have had considerable problems with the weight loss capsules that they have been using, either prescription or natural, wherein it was not suitable for them. Finding the most effective weight loss capsules for you is hard but surely rewarding.

Weight loss should actually be enhancing your life and your longevity, so don’t risk your life, see a doctor first.

High Protein Diet Meal Plans – the Good and Bad

March 31st, 2010 1 comment

When you begin looking for the best diet plan to bring you to your goal weight, you will likely come across some pretty wild ideas and suggestions. From fad diets to high protein diet meal plans and virtually everything in between.

This article is going to focus on the pros and cons of high protein diet meal plans. These types of diets generally recommend that the dieter increase the protein intake daily to between 30-40% of the overall calorie intake. These diet regimens and meal plans are designed to be the total opposite of what most people consider to be a good diet.

There are several spin offs of these types of diets but they all have the same basis on calorie intake from proteins. Many people consider high protein diets to also be low carb diets as well. Some of the foods you will have to cut out or limit on these diets plans are:

* pasta
* sugars
* potatoes
* cereal
* bread

Low carb high protein diets work because instead of relying on the carbs that have been consumed to burn the calories it works on actually burning the fat first because of the lower carb intake. Recently people are realizing that this dietary modifications are beneficial and do not cause the harm it was once thought to.

The Good to High Protein Diet Meal Plans:

* You will feel full quicker and the feeling of satisfaction with the amount of food you ate will last longer.

* You can still eat the foods that are high in protein without being penalized, like many other diets.

* You can eat low carb veggies. For example, broccoli and tomatoes.

The Bad to High Protein Diet Meal Plans:

* Some of these diets will require you to limit your carb intake drastically which can be unhealthy.

* Cutting back on some of the fiber rich foods that also have carbs can limit the amount of fiber you are getting daily.

* Be cautious when choosing your high protein diet because many of the plans will suggest you consume a larger than healthy amount of fats daily. This has the potential to elevate the risks for some cancers and high blood pressure.

Here is a sample meal plan for a diet high in protein:

* Steak and your choice of egg
* Coffee or tea (one cup, no milk)

* Pita pocket loaded with tuna salad
* Almonds (keep it on the smaller serving size)

* Broccoli and cauliflower mixture with broiled salmon
* Glass of seltzer water

A little something extra to tie you over
*scoops of peanut butter
* mixed nuts

As you can see just because you have decided to use a high protein diet meal plan to help you lose weight it doesn’t mean you have to have flavorless food. Although your options will be limited you can still eat a variety of healthy foods that will surely satisfy your hunger needs.

Avoiding All of the Fad Diets

March 31st, 2010 1 comment

Every year it seems as if there is a new diet on the market that is guaranteed to help you lose weight more quickly and easily than ever before. Many women who have struggled for years to lose weight see fad diets as a sort of miracle cure. As the saying goes, however, things that seem too good to be true, often are just that. Unfortunately, while many fad diets can help you to lose some weight, quite often the loss is temporary and the harsh restrictions of the diet make it virtually impossible to keep with it indefinitely. Depending on fad diets as opposed to developing healthy eating habits can also lead to yo-yo dieting. Studies have shown that women who rapidly lose and regain weight on a consistent basis are setting themselves up for heart problems in the future. The best way to lose weight safely is to alter your diet to include moderate servings of healthy foods while exercising on a regular basis.

Problems Associated with Popular Fad Diets

The Protein Power Diet. Like many trendy low-carbohydrate diet plans, the Protein Power diet focuses on reducing the amount of carbohydrates you consume. While cutting down on carbs can be a healthy way to lose weight, many low-carb diets allow you to eat as much fat, including saturated fats you want. Too much saturated fat in your diet can lead to heart disease, some forms of cancer and high blood pressure. Additionally, this diet also is devised to help you burn extra fat. While this seems like a great thing, failing to hydrate adequately while burning fat can lead to problems with your kidneys.

Sugar Busters Diet. Another diet aimed at targeting the carbohydrates in your diet, the Sugar Busters diet promotes replacing bad carbs with the good carbs found in foods sold under the Sugar Busters label. The main problem with this diet is that it claims that caloric content is unimportant so long as you are eating the right foods. Also, there is no recommended exercise program to supplement this diet.

Liquid Replacement Diets. Diets which encourage you to replace two meals a day with a liquid substitute can be very effective in the short term. Unfortunately, once the weight is lost and you return to your normal eating habits, weight gain is frequently quick to follow. When choosing a diet, it is best to stick with something you can maintain on a long term basis.

Tips for Avoiding Fad Diets
The opportunity for losing weight can be a strong temptation, but knowing what to look for can help you to avoid fad diets and find a healthier way to lose weight.

Do not fall for any diet that promises a miracle weight loss. Healthy dieting takes time and effort.

Sensible diets are based on balance and moderation, be wary of any diet that allows unlimited quantities of any particular food group.

Take a good look at studies purporting to prove the effectiveness of the diet. Truthful reporting should come from more than a single source, and should not read like a sales pitch.

Dieting, A Wiser Weight Loss Approach

March 31st, 2010 No comments

We live in a weight-conscious age where the media glamorizes thinness. As we stand queue up at supermarkets and drugstores, magazine headlines draw our attention to the trendiest weight-control techniques while images of thin celebrities lure us into losing weight. While a lot of diets look appealing, we should also consider whether or not they are really worth the hype and decide on the approach that is best for us.

Those of us who are not fitness experts can easily get confused. Should we consider fasting or dieting? Although both have their pros and cons, we will discover that the dieting is a far wiser approach toward healthy weight-control than fasting.

First of all, all diets differ in their requirements, ranging from low carbohydrate/high protein, to low fat, to low salt, to low sugar and from frequent meals to few meals.

A lot of publicity has been directed towards two very different weight-control methods: dieting and fasting.
1. Dieting involves eating small healthy meals every few hours. In dieting, portion size is as important as frequency of meals.
2. Fasting is on the other end of the spectrum. This is a short-term approach often used for rapid and extreme weight loss by models and celebrities who want to look their best for movies, videos, or photo shoots.

Both dieting and fasting have their own advantages and disadvantages. With dieting, you get the benefit of never experiencing hunger pangs. When fasting, you may experience a drop in blood sugar levels, causing you to reach a starvation mode and binge when it ends. But eating every three hours, you will have a satisfied stomach and nicer moods. When starving yourself, you experience side effects like grumpiness, dizziness, and headaches.

Unlike fasting, dieting actually increases your metabolism. In fact, dieting works well for your appearance as well, since eating every few hours reduces cartisol, which is responsible for belly fat. On the other hand, starving yourself causes your body to store fat, defeating the purpose.

Further, with dieting, you will have plenty of energy, letting you to go on with your normal daily schedule and even incorporate exercise into your weight-loss plan. In contrast, when fasting you will be sluggish and will only want to try it on your days off from work or school. However, by far the greatest benefits of dieting, as opposed to fasting, are that it is safe for anyone. It can even be developed into a lifestyle plan.

Save Your Waistline Over the Holidays With Diet Recipes

March 31st, 2010 No comments

<!– @page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

The holidays are upon us. Thanksgiving and Christmas are the two major holidays each year and there is so much food consumed during these two days. People travel long distances to be with their families during the holidays. A big part of the holidays revolves around food. Many people look forward to the food as much as they look forward to spending time with family. Thanksgiving means turkey, stuffing, potatoes and many other side dishes along with a host of desserts. Unfortunately holiday food also means holiday calories and pounds. People gain more weight during the holidays than any other time of year. It’s no wonder that people choose the start of the New Year as their time to improve their weight, which is after the holidays.

One way to get a handle on all the food that is being passed around during this time of year is to modify some of your favorite recipes. By simply finding a good diet recipe that is your staple at office and church potlucks during the holidays, you can help your calorie count out tremendously. Using a diet recipe doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice all the flavor and pizzazz you’re used to. With all the different functions you likely attend during the holidays, why not integrate your calorie watching into that? There are a lot of diet recipes out there that you would never know are good for you. Many of the holiday classics can be modified to be what’s considered a diet recipe. Just think of that secret carrot cake recipe you’re famous for, grandma’s world famous mac ‘n cheese recipe or even your favorite cookies. There are tons of alternative ingredients you can use to lower the fat and calorie content of all those dishes. And the best part is, often times when you switch out the ingredients, the flavor doesn’t have to be sacrificed. Using diet recipes isn’t the only way to cut back during the holidays.

You can simply watch your portion sizes as well. Indulging isn’t completely wrong all the time. But remember to not overeat. You can simply have a little of everything. Follow the cues your body gives you and don’t eat until you make yourself sick. If you’re the one doing the hosting and cooking at your house, try a few diet recipes. You can easily incorporate these into the traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and your guests will be none the wiser. Of course they’ll be thankful that you saved them some calories. And you might find that your guests are anxious to get the diet recipes from you. Just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean that all is lost where calories and fat are concerned. You can take charge of your holiday eating by using Diet recipes along with some of your other favorite dishes.

The Truth about Diet and Weight Loss

The Truth about Diet and Weight Loss

I want to talk tonight about weight loss. It’s a subject everyone is worried about. And the problem is that diets don’t work. Everybody has tried a diet. I haven’t met a person yet that’s hasn’t tried something, from kids to people in their eighties; everybody has tried some kind of diet and they just don’t work. In recent studies when they looked at a lot of their major diets (some good one’s, Atkins, The Zone), they put them all together statistically and found a ten pound weight loss on average. Now, these people lost a hundred pounds and gained it back of course. But, all that work, all that money, all those videos, for ten pounds of weight loss?

So the truth is, we have to find a life style that will allow you to stay at a weight that is healthy for you. That’s a much different way of thinking than all this crash dieting that goes on. What you have to learn is how to take care of yourself; you have to learn the appropriate foods; you have to make better choices. That’s the only way it’s going to work.
