Successful Weight Loss in Women: Five Essential Keys

October 31st, 2010 No comments

Still struggling with trying to control or generate some successful weight loss? Whatever your diet or women’s weight loss program might be, try applying these five essential keys to successful weight loss in women.

1. Eat Your Meals More Slowly

If you have an eye towards shaping up, toning down and generating fat loss to improve your looks and health, then consider this. You will derive more benefit nutritionally from what you eat, when you chew your food more thoroughly and eat more slowly. Why? It’s because your body more easily extract nutrients from finely chewed foods. It’s also true of foods that spend more time in the digestive tract where their value is extracted. “Wolfing down” your food serves no constructive purpose other than to make you prone to indigestion, upset stomach, and ulcers.

2. Avoid Excess Salt

In speaking of salt, the Holy Bible says, “Will tasteless things be eaten without salt?” (Job 6:6) Salt has many uses and is a seasoning that has been used for centuries. Used in excess however, and it quickly can turn against you. In moderation, it embellishes flavor and taste and enhances a multitude of foods. But use too much and tastes are strong, pungent, acrid and bitter. Too salty is a cooking error that can be difficult to correct. Salt also promotes water imbalances in the body, causing water weight gains in some, Diarrhea in others. An excess of salt in foods is the bane of weight loss in women. Avoid it.

3. Avoid High Saturated Fat, Processed Flour and Sugar-based Foods

From ancient China comes the saying, “Eat noodles for long life”, but it’s best to do so in moderation. Deep-fried foods, processed flour pastries and breads, and all manner of sugary or sugar-based foods and drinks are truly best avoided as much s possible for successful weight loss.

4. Increase Your Physical Activity

Move your body, exercise, enroll in a gym and go regularly for physical, aerobic workouts. You might consider practicing a physical sport like tennis or golf, bike riding, roller skating or ice skating, jogging on a path, trail or treadmill. How about taking ballroom dance, Tango or Salsa dancing classes? Just find a physical activity you enjoy, practice it regularly and experience successful weight loss as you do. Come up with some way to regularly move your body and exercise for continued weight loss, especially in women.

5. Watch Out for Holidays and Festivals

Holiday celebrations and seasonal festivals can represent some of the best and worst times of our lives. One reason why is that this is often a time for cooking special foods and preparing all manner of “sumptuous drinks” all loaded to the rim with things you just know you really shouldn’t have. Okay, so we’re all human. Enjoy your holidays. Remember to do so though, in moderation. Don’t fall, or jump, completely off the wagon. Recovering from an extensive holiday binge can take weeks if you’re not as careful as you should be. Be careful of and exercise some control over what you eat and drink during the holidays.

Stop struggling with trying to control or generate some successful weight loss in women by using these five helpful fat loss program suggestions.

3 All Natural Weight Loss Foods

October 31st, 2010 4 comments

The trick to eating these 3 fat burning foods is to not eat too much. Integrate these 3 foods into your diet and squeeze them in as snacks in between main meals.

Apples, Berries, Cabbage & Broccoli – This is more a group of foods but any citrus fruit also acts as a fat burning food. Vitamin C can turn fat deposits into liquid. Apples and berriest specifically have a lot of Vitamin C and make it perfect for fighting fat and preventing you from getting hungry.

Lean Meat – Lean meats are high in protein and also aid in weight loss while at the same time helping to build muscle. If you are exercising and eating lean meat in your meals you will build muscle. The reason muscle is so effective in aiding weight loss is because muscle burns fat even while resting. Chicken meats are the best but can be expensive. Opt for turkey second.

Garlic – Garlic is actually a weight loss food? You may already be cooking with garlic as a spcie; just start using more of it. Garlic and garlic oil will not only make your food taste better but will help with your diet.

Putting it all together to take advantage of these 3 natural fat burning fat loss foods: As always, eat 4-5 meals per day. Add apples, berries cabbage and broccoli in 1 or 2 of those meals as snacks. Have 2 meals that include lean meats and include some garlic in the cooking of these meats.

If you are making your own meals and putting together your own food combinations make sure you are getting enough water, green vegetables and grains. Try to cut out any preservatives in addition to integrating these 3 foods into you diet. Eat as much fresh and un-preserved foods as possible.

The only difficult part about that is everyone is so used to eating what we’ve been eating for the last 10 years. So replace foods one by one so its more of a gradual change vs one major move.

If you cannot afford a nutritionist or personal trainer and do not have the time to study what foods you should be eating and at what times my suggestion is to get a book or program that will map out meal plans for you based on your goals.

Our paleolithic ancestors enjoyed a simple diet, consisting of animals, poultry and seafood, as well as the leaves and fruits of many plants. This diet kept the human race alive for five million years, before the first agricultural revolution – approximately 10,000 years ago – which has significantly changed up the way we eat today.

Discover the health benefits of following the natural paleo diet our ancestors survived and thrived on for the last 200,000 years…

Atkins Diet Recipes: Fast Low Carb Cheese Bread

October 30th, 2010 25 comments

In a search for a good low carb bread alternative that I can make easily without a bread machine, I found this great recipe by Jennifer Eloff ( It’s best toasted, but also makes a mean french toast as well. It holds up well to being dunked as well as holding your sandwich together.

Fast Cheesebread

1 cup ground almonds
2/3 cup gold flax meal
1/3 cup vital wheat gluten
1/3 cup vanilla whey protein
4 tsp baking powder
1 cup Shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream/water mixture

Mix Dry ingredients together in large bowl. Cut in the butter. In a separate dish, beat eggs and then add the heavy cream mixture. Stir egg/cream mixture into the dry ingredients just until mixed. Scrape into 8×8 well-greased baking pan.

Cook at 350 for 35-45 minutes until inserted knife comes out clean.

Once done, let cool, and cut the bread into quarters. Each quarter is further cut into 3 slices.

Yield: 12 slices, 1 slice:
152 calories: 10g protein; 12 g fat; 2.25 g carbs

Resveratrol Weight Loss – Pop A Pill And Lose Weight Fast

October 27th, 2010 No comments

Researchers say the newest miracle drug, Resveratrol, could mean a people are living longer, feeling better and even acheiving resveratrol weight loss with a Resveratrol supplement – I had to try it out!

I have watched many stories on various news channels about Resveratrol. It sounded so good – so certain. One program, 60 Minutes, is noted for stating the following:

This is Morley Safer…."Forget dieting, forget the sweaty business of working out – just pop a pill and you’re in guilt free, couch potato paradise".

Holy Cow! If the Resveratrol weight loss supplement and diet only do a small fraction of what Morely Safer stated, it would put every other fad diet out to pasture for good. The doctors from the biotech company, Sirtris, tell us that the health benefits attributable to Resveratrol and quite amazing. They said the drug – which appears naturally in the skin of grapes – can slow down the aging process. They tell us that the chemical is the underlying reason red wine is known to be such a healthy drink. It should be noted that the Resveratrol weight loss capsules contain the same benefits as drinking 1,000 bottles of red wine per day. This would be an impossible task to be sure.

As an added benefit, Resveratrol works to keep you thin by telling your mind you are not hungry.

I had to try it since I was so interested in resveratrol weight loss, so I ordered myself a free trial of Resveratrol.

When it came, I was anxious to try it out, and since it didn’t have any side effects, I started my trial right away.

The first few days I was on the supplements, I really did not notice a huge resveratrol weight loss difference. I was happy to have some increased energy and noticed that I was not dying for a snack after 6:00 pm, like I usually am. However, at the end of that first week, I was really pleased to see that I had lost five and a half pounds!

It certainly wasn’t a drastic resveratrol weight loss diet, but whenever I ate I just felt like I was eating enough and never felt like I had to finish all my food.

The effects of Resveratrol were so subtle, I found it easy to stick with the diet plan. I did not experience jitters or need to stay near a bathroom. By the second week, I could tell that my energy levels were improving dramatically. As I finished my trial supplements, I noticed that I could get through an entire day without feeling droopy.

Taking the Resveratrol weight loss trial supplements was such a different experience that I decided to continue taking it. It was just so easy to get something that could actually help me live a longer, healthier life – researchers say as much as a decade can be added to your lifetime by taking Resveratrol supplements. And the best part, there are no side effects to deal with!
