What is a good recipe for homemade dogfood for overweight dogs?
I have two dogs that are overweight. I feed them Weight Management dry food but they are used to having canned food mixed with this. Does anyone know of a good diet recipe for dogs?
hi,
You don’t have to switch to a "lite" food, but you might want to since it means you won’t have to cut back quite as much on the amount you feed your dog. (Hey, if it was easy for us to deny our dogs we wouldn’t be in this fix in the first place.) Regardless, he’ll be eating less, so help him feel satisfied by adding low-calorie, high-fiber foods to his bowl.

The term "Weight Management" is all word play. It does not help animal lose weight, it MANAGES there weight, which means it keeps it at the same level.
If you want to find a food that will actually help your dog lose weight you need to find "Low Fat" "Diet" "Light" etc. The same with human food.
The best homemade dog food is Raw diet.

get some of the dog diet food, then put it in water.. leave it for about 30 min, then crush the food soo it looks like mashed potatoes, then add some apples and carrots and a little bit of canned food.. then mix that all together, and if its not to watery and you can shape it, then you can shape it into like a bone shape… lol, thats what i doo.then put it in the fridge untill it hardens and there your done!! … you can also feed it when its wet.. byut my dog like the hard ones betterr~!!!
