Can anyone name diets that actually work?
I am exploring my dietary options. Does anyone know a way I should balance my food intake, how many calories a day i should consume, or just anything?
I’m wondering about life style changing diets, or quick diets. I just want to look healthy but right now, I am not happy. I really hate not being comfortable in my own skin, so all help is welcomed!
Thank you!
i haven’t tried my self but i’ve heard a lot about people who had! so it takes exactly 100 days and you loose about 10 kg or about 22 pounds! so you don’t have to lessen the amount you eat, you just have to control WHAT you eat:
1. things not to eat:
*junk food of any sort
*NO fast food
*nothing with too much flour or sugar
2. exercise!!!!- skip for thirty minutes every day and go on a jog around you neighborhood. just get between an hour and two hours of exercise every day!
3. don’t eat after six in the evening!!!!! eating before you sleep is very bad.
4. don’t go on a diet with someone you know!- if you go on a diet with someone else, it might seem smart cause you can "suffer" together, but you end up comparing yourself to them!
5. do not weigh yourself until the hundredth day!!!- you end up slacking off if you loose you weight faster than you expected.
6. follow the food guide for your diet!
GOOD LUCK!!!!
Eat less, move more!

After years of trying out diet after diet after diet, the only one that really worked for me is the Atkin’s diet. I dropped 30 pounds in about 6 weeks and that’s without exercising. By removing all traces of carbs from your diet, your body stops burning carbs as fuel and instead burns the fat that is stored in your body as fuel. It’s amazing, you feel great and your hair and nails are shiny, strong, and super healthy. It’s a very easy plan to follow, no expensive pills and you don’t have to buy anything except for what you eat every day which is fresh vegetables, meats, eggs, and cheese. I would definitely look into it if I were you. Try "The New Atkins for the New You" book to learn the science behind it. It has a lot of sample menus and it also teaches you how to use the diet to your best advantage.
Good luck with your weight loss! It’s hard but I know that if you make the right and healthy choices you can definitely do it.

Most diets only work for short term, in order to lose weight and then maintain the new goal weight you should aim to make small lifestyle changes with a healthy, balanced diet.
I know how you feel I’ve been through diets myself – I found Slimmer’s World to be a great help – However, as soon as I reached goal, gave up the diet I didn’t learn anything and it was a catch-22 cycle.
In the last year I have been making small lifestyle changes and learning to opt for healthier options in the shopping. I still have chocolate and other ‘unhealthy’ foods yet I’ve learnt to portion control and moderate eating.

Personal Weight Loss Experiences over the past 1-2 years.
There are plenty of good dieting programs out there. The best thing to do is to combine one with regular exercise to be in optimal weight and fit as well. I use the diet solution program where I lost 9 pounds my first week and between 1 and 3 pounds on the weeks thereafter until I reached my optimal wieght. You can chek it out if you want, I recommend it…http://tinyurl.com/89fnjtd

The only diet that really works is the "Eat less food, eat a balanced diet, and get some exercise" diet.
No gimmicks. No drugs. No stupid combinations of items like…watermelon and tabasco sauce.
It’s not super fast (lose about 1-2 pounds a week if that) and it’s something you’ll have to pretty much do for the rest of your life since you’ll still have to watch what you eat, lest you gain back the weight you worked so far to lose.
A normal adult burns about 2000 calories a day even when just sitting on the couch.
If you regularly burn more calories than you consume, you’ll be losing weight. However if you try to lose too much too fast, your body will think there’s a famine going on. It will convert everything into fat, and you will gain weight.
So the idea is to eat less, but not so much less your body freaks out.
You also need to look at what you eat. You need a balance of protein, fiber, vitamins, etc. Yes, some fat and sugar too, but not a lot.
Exercise. Exercise won’t make you lose weight directly. However it gets your body moving and encourages muscle development. It also helps get your heart and blood flowing, essentially flushing out your system. Exercise helps improve your metabolism too, so you will burn slightly more calories – even when just sitting on the couch. More importantly, exercise gives you more energy and helps maintain a positive attitude which you’ll need to stay on your diet anyways. Start out slow and easy. Go for a walk or ride your bike around the block/park. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Go swimming or go play a sport with some friends. It doesn’t matter if you’re any good…just get out there.
Make small changes what you eat. Try to add more vegetables and fruit to your diet. Eat less meat. Try going vegetarian once or twice a week. Add a salad or bowl of vegetable soup to dinner, then cut down on the starch or fatty meat. Try to find a whole wheat bread that you like, instead of just processed white bread. Eat breakfast. A glass of juice, some oatmeal, maybe with a little brown sugar. This will keep you from feeling hungry and the oats are a great source of fiber.
Read the labels on food and understand what they mean. Did you know that most small bags of potato chips actually contain more than 1 serving? Yeah, you look and says "100 calories per serving" but then it says the bag contains 1.5-3 servings, meaning if you ate the whole bag that’s actually 150-300 calories, not just 100! Yeah, food companies are tricky that way! Be careful.
Again, little changes, moderation, persistence. These are the keys. It’s ok to still eat a cookie now and then…but only eat a few cookies not the whole box.
