How to lose 20 pounds in a month without a commercial diet?
Without one of those diets that advertise on tv and stuff. What to do and eat and what not.
swim for 45 minutes a day and eat about 1,500 calories. π
if you can’t swim, then i reccommend walking/running (walk a mile, run half of a mile, walk a mile run half a mile…… and so on) for at least an hour a day, going on the exersize bike for 40 minutes (or going on a bike ride for 40 minutes if you don’t have an exersize bike) or you can try the biggest loser cardio max (my favorite workout tape). jillian’s work good too, but they make you gain more muscle than the cardio max and if you don’t want that then i reccommend cardio max. i’ve tried other exersize tapes and they work ok, but they wont give you the results you want in the allotted time. also remember to work out every single day. (i know, sounds like a pain, but you’ll thank yourself later on)
for food i reccommend
fruits- watermelon, strawberries and oranges
vegetables- really any are fine (peas and corn are the worst to eat, but there still ok) the best would be lettuce and peppers. one thing i learned is that it helps to eat your salads dry. just put some black pepper and a tiny bit of salt and you’ll get used to it and it saves calories.
meats- if you eat meat, go for chicken, turkey and a little bit of beef. pork and lamb are higher in fat and aren’t as good for you. fish is excellent. if you a vegetarian, go for boca burgers (original vegan. flame grilled tastes good but you save 50 calories with the origional vegan) even if you not vegetarian, these are a good source of protein and taste pretty good. also tofu is good for losing weight but if you don’t like it, that’s ok theres other stuff to eat that works just as well.
dairy- try to drink skim or 1% milk and if you drink coffee, use fat free creamer. it actually tastes pretty good and you save on the fat calories. π i would stay away from cheese (you don’t have to cut it out, just make it a treat) but yogurt is a pretty good snack to eat on a diet.
grains- stay away from pasta and bread (you can eat whole wheat, but don’t eat too much of it). try eating rice and cereal (not sugar cereal, but special K or cherrios).
drinks- avoid juice (this is a hidden fat food) drink TONS of water and try drinking tea. green tea is best, but you can drink other kinds of tea too if your not too big on green tea. try not to drink pop but if you have a hard time cutting it out, drink diet and go for the low sodium pops.
if you have a hard time with cheating on your diet (like me) try buying the yoplait (i think i spelled that wrong, sorry) whips, you can stick them in the freezer and have a frozen yogurt as a little treat and it’s only 140 calories. don’t eat this everyday but if it’s hard for you to cut out sweets, this is a good dessert to eat. and if your a pizza lover, try getting the thin crust pizza (one or two slices only) with red or green peppers as a topping. you can try adding crushed red pepper to it. also try to eat spicey food. like add chili powder to some black beans and rice or try putting hot sauce in a southern style soup (sounds gross, but actually tastes really really good) spicey foods speed up your metabolism and this will make it easier for you to lose weight. also remember, if you have a bad day, just add a few more miles or minutes to your workout and you’ll be fine.
sorry about that being so long but good luck and keep at it! π

the only safe logical answer…….
I lost 20 lbs in one month once. I would eat something small for breakfast like an egg or a piece of toast, then for lunch I would eat fresh vegetables (broccoli, carrots, cherry tomatoes…stuff like that) until I was full for lunch (I did use a little bit of veggie dip with them) and then I would get on the treadmill at 3 mph for 15 minutes, then use the Bowflex for 15 minutes. For a snack during the day, I’d eat pretzels or something low fat and for dinner, usually 1 serving size of Chicken Viola because it has vegetables, chicken, and a little pasta in it. I did this faithfully for 2 months…lost 20 lbs a month for a total of 40 lbs. I looked great, felt great…and no I didn’t starve myself. When I got hungry, I ate but I wouldn’t eat more than 35 grams of fat. Hope this helps.

my mom’s a nutritionist and i’ve spent years listening to her tips π
1. Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.
2. Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. Itβs a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.
3. Drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.
4. Have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster. SIDENOTE: Water is such a remarkable thing, but seldom do we give it the credit that it deserves. Did you know that over 66% of your body weight is nothing but waterβ Itβs amazing! Water also plays a vital role in weight control, which is why I donated so much space to it, above.
5. Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.
6. Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.
7. Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber, which is needed by the body, and fruits of course are an excellent source of vitamins.
8. If you do have a craving for fruit juice then go for fresh fruit juice instead of these that contain artificial flavors and colors. Or even better, try making your own fruit juice taking care not to sweeten it with too many calories.
9. Choose fresh fruit to processed fruits. Processed and canned fruits do not have as much fiber as fresh fruit and processed and canned fruits are nearly always sweetened.
10. Increase your fiber intake. Like I mentioned, the body needs a lot of fiber. So try to include in your diet as many fruits and vegetables as you can.
11. Go crazy on vegetables. Vegetables are your best bet when it comes to losing pounds. Nature has a terrific spread when it comes to choosing vegetables. And the leafy green vegetables are your best bet. Try to include a salad in you diet always
