What are some healthy foods to eat for a diet?

January 19th, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

I am 5’11, I weigh 195 pounds and I am 18 years old.
I want to drop 15-20 pounds by the end of March, but I always catch myself eating junk food.

How can I get rid of the habit?
What are some healthy foods to eat to achieve my goal? (Breakfeast Lunch Dinner)
What are some foods to avoid?

For excercise I have the workout program ‘Insanity’, so I will be doing that and hopefully finish it. I also have some weights so I will probably do an extra 15 minutes of weightlifting after the program.

Thanks for your input.

lots of water and fibre.

eat apples and green vegetables.

try big salads with no-fat dressing, topped with lean meats like chicken breast, pork loin, turkey breast, tuna, etc.

a boiled egg is under a 100 calories and really filling.

for snacks i eat plain popcorn dipped in salsa and vegetables with a fat-free yogurt dip spiced with onion soup mix or a low-fat hummus (easy to make).

if you’re totally craving chocolate, have one fat-free pudding cup. try dipping strawberries in it.

cut back and make healthier choices, cause it works better than starving yourself.

i bought a plate at walmart that has 3 separate compartments, one for meat, one for whole grain, and one for vegetable. they’re small, reasonable sizes so you can watch your portions.

good luck:)

I suggest you google something like ‘heathy weight loss’ for the right foods. As for stopping the junk food – just.STOP. You’re not a child anymore. I know it’s hard, especially sugar. It’s addictive. Just aim to get through a day at a time. Every day. And if you do fall off the wagon, don’t berate yourself as being hopeless and eating more junk because you think you can’t stop. Just go right back to the healthy food. As you start to lose weight, it’ll start being easier because you’ll gain pride in your accomplishment.

7 colour fruit salad. or at least try to eat one or two fruits a day of different colors. example of colors. yellow, black, white, red , blue, gree, (please do not tell me that black or white are not colors, remember that this is about eating , no about physics). Lean meat, some fish, chicken. soy isolate, skim milk or low fat or soy milk. lettuce, tomato, onions, celery, cucumber, all crucifers,
some chewable multivitamis, containing also D3 and calcium. any type of bread but in moderation. i say any type of bread because they are all the same at the end. Moderation is the key word in everything. exercise a lot but not so much to feel very hungry , exercise to tone your muscles until you reach your goal. (ideal weight)
