Would anyone like to join a vegetarian support group?

December 12th, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

I need the emails of those who would like to be a part of this Yahoo group to support healthy eating. There is just too much dairy and meat out there! Will someone help me?
My question is would you want to be part of a vegetarian support group, even if it’s for a limited time. Hey, I like meat too, but it has a lot of toxins simply by the fact that it’s not organic.
No, Honky, I’m not pale, skinny or uptight, but I’d like to be. rofl Meat does not calm one down, nor does it give you a tan. rofl I just want to start a group for better health. Even if we all don’t stick to it forever, eating only vegetables, chicken and fish and no dairy, beef or pork for a period of time is going to improve one’s health, not be a detriment to it.
If you’re interested in trying this diet for one month: July 14 – August 14, let me know:

No dairy, beef or pork for one month:

First off, a vegetarian diet still includes milk, cheese and eggs (if you consider eggs meat, so be it). Vegetarianism is a diet that lacks the inclusion of red or white meat or fish–the dieter simply chooses to abstain from consuming meat.

The technicial definition of the diet you’re supporting is "vegan"–it doesn’t include dairy, eggs, meat or fish. It’s a very different program than vegetarianism. For one thing, vegans must consume a great many more dietary supplements than vegetarians do in order to receive the same recommended amounts of vitamins and minerals from their diet.

I have been vegetarian my entire life (I’m currently 20)–my grandparents and parents are vegetarian as well. My family has a history of heart disease and high cholesterol issues, which vegetarianism helps control. I already take a dozen supplement pills a day to ensure that I am healthy. I would never consider a vegan diet because it is simply too difficult to maintain for my lifestyle.

Thank you for your support of healthy eating. I hope that the group will be an educational experience for all its members–and that more people see the wisdom of good eating habits and balanced food intake. 🙂

I like to eat healthy, but give me a break… we were put on this earth as omnivores, to eat meat and vegetables. I know two good sayings…

Vegetables are not food, vegetables are what food eats.

VEGETARIAN… old Indian word meaning bad hunter…

    I do wonder.
    We are what we eat.
    Balance is the key.
We have evolved to this stage in evolution by being omnivorous.
Highly successful and adaptable scavengers to be more precise.
