What is the likelihood of gaining back weight after New Direction ketosis weight loss program?

March 4th, 2013 2 comments

I am interested in starting the New Direction weight loss program which uses ketosis in order to maximize weight loss. By doing so and maintaining healthy eating habits, what is the likelihood of regaining weight?
The program is carefully monitored by nurse practitioners and my family doctor through blood tests and ekgs.

Quick weight loss does not work on any diet. The weight always comes back plus more. If you reduce your caloric intake by 500 calories per day you will lose one pound per week and most of the weight will not come back.

What is a good exercise and meal plan for a 15 year old girl?

October 12th, 2012 1 comment

I’m 15 and i want to try and lose weight. I only want to lose 20-30 pounds because ive been told that is within my healthy weight range. I’m 4’11 and about 145 pounds. I want to start yoga but i’m worried that the meal plan will be hard with a house full of unhealthy people.

Importance of Weight Management

During the teenage years your daughter is developing habits she will maintain for life. This includes her relationship with food. Helping your daughter make healthy decisions now will help her to make healthy decisions as an adult. Teens who are overweight are more likely to become obese adults and more likely to have health problems like heart disease, heart attack and diabetes as adults. The gradual weight management process will help your teen solidify a healthy relationship with food and continue this into adulthood.

Diet

A 15-year-old girl is still growing and needs her body needs the vitamins and nutrients that come from eating a well-balanced diet. Your teen should be eating from the grain, fruit, vegetable, protein, dairy and fat group each day. Your 15-year-old should consume anywhere from 1,800-2,400 calories per day. If your child is extremely active she’ll need to consume near the top range of 2,400 calories, but if she isn’t very active 1,800 calories may be a better fit. Start somewhere in the middle and track progress as she goes if you are unsure. To help your teen change her diet, begin by making small changes. For example, help her pick fruits and vegetables for healthy snacks instead of getting food from the vending machine. Make sure your teen eats breakfast every morning. Try out different recipes like an egg sandwich on whole wheat or yogurt and fruit.
Exercise

Help your teen examine her exercise habits. If she’s involved in sports, she may already meet her exercise requirements. If not, it may just take some schedule adjusting to make it a priority. Your teen should aim to get about 60 minutes of physical activity each day. However, this doesn’t have to be continuous exercise. For example, if your teen walks 15 minutes to school she will already have 30 minutes of physical activity each day. Teens need both aerobic and strength training as part of their exercise routine. Make exercise a family activity: Go for bike rides, hiking, jogging, play tennis or another sport. You don’t want to force your teen into exercise, but rather you want to show her it can be an enjoyable part of her day.

What are the 3 Weight Loss Myths of the Master Cleanse Recipe?

May 12th, 2011 No comments

There are myths surrounding the master cleanse and the master cleanse recipe.  In this article, I will demystify 3 of the little know myths, that you should know if you want to loss weight with the master cleanse lemonade diet.

Myth 1: The Master Cleanse is a Weight Loss and Detox Formula
The original master cleanse lemonade diet is an excellent detox, but never a superior weight loss diet. Don’t get dishearten because with a few tweaks to the formulation, you can turn it into an effective weight loss diet. I’ll give you more information about using master cleanse foe weight loss and detox later.

Granted that a lot of people losing weight while on the cleanse, but not everyone managed to keep those extra pounds off for good. Nonetheless, knowing that it’s possible to loss weight and detox at the same time motivates a lot of people to try out the original master cleanse formula.

Myth 2: The Longer You are in the Cleanse, the More Weight You can Loss.
Theoretically speaking, what you have just read makes sense. I’ve known of folks going on Master Cleanse for up to 60 days.  For those wanting to use master cleanse for weight loss, this is an absolute No-No.

Why?
Because once out of the lemon cleanse diet, you may gain back all that you have lose and more.

If you want to use the master cleanse recipe for weight loss, you must understand a little secret about your metabolism.  It wasn’t mentioned in Stanley Burroughs master cleanse diet.

When on master cleanse, probably you already know that your calories intake is around 600.  That’s way below your daily calories intake on a normal day.  On the average, women require about 2000 calories per day while men need about 2700 calories. This is provided that there’s no vigorous workout.

While it’s perfectly alright to cut down on calories, doing so on a prolong basis slows down your metabolism rate.

The next moment, when you are back on your normal diet, your calories intake become too much for your metabolism handle.

So what happen next?

All those calories that your metabolism can’t handle, get converted into fats.

If you are new to the master cleanse fast, or if you intend to use it for weight loss, don’t go beyond 10 days.  That’s my recommendation.

Myth 3: You Don’t Need Protein
If you study the master cleanse recipe, you will know that it’s a protein free formula.

While there are animals that can sustain their protein requirement for an extended period with it, we are not one of them.  I’ll show you where to go, to get  the source of protein you need later.  First, I want you to know that certain amino acids found in the proteins are essential for our overall well being.

According to World Health Organisation (WHO), technical report, Protein and Amino Acid Requirements in Human Nutrition, your body can’t do without the following list of amino acids:

  • Lysine
  • Leucine
  • Isoleucine and valine
  • Threonine
  • Aromatic amino acids
  • Tryptophan
  • Sulfur amino acids
  • Histidine

You may find out more about protein and amino acid requirements in human nutrition at: http://whqlibdoc.who.int/trs/WHO_TRS_935_eng.pdf>.

The good news is, you can truly use the master cleanse lemonade diet for weight loss and detox at the same time.

All you need to do is to add appropriate protein into your diet and keep to the 10 days regime.  That way, you can use the master cleanse recipe as a safe weight loss and detox diet.

Lose Weight Without Using Fad Diets – Do it the Healthy Way!

May 12th, 2011 14 comments

Fad diets have always been a popular way for people to conspire to lose weight. I say conspire, because that is pretty much all they do. They talk about the prospective fad diet with their friends, peers and colleagues, then they buy into it and try it out for awhile. A lot of people find themselves in a never ending cycle of fad diets, but they never seem to lose weight!

Why is it that people never stick with these fad diets and they all end up “cheating” on the diet and eventually giving up?

Simple, because they don’t work.

In order to lose weight the right way, the healthy way — one must treat their body as if it were their castle. If you put toxins in your body, toxins are going to come out and you will be constantly taking in and expelling toxins. That goes for smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol and eating fatty or overly greasy foods. The more unhealthy habits you develop, the condition of your body will show the effects.

You can lose weight without fad diets, trust me. Eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Lean meats such as chicken and fish are good too. Add a bit of exercise to that routine and you will be the size you want to be in no time. It almost seems to simple to be true, but it’s not.

Of course there are a few other things that you’ll need to do, but this will lay down the foundation for you to experience satisfactory weight loss as well as live a healthy life. Cut down your caloric intake to under 1500 calories per day and you will drop the pounds faster than ever before, without the need of corny fad diets or slick advertising that is designed to prey on your emotions.

Anne Collin’s Formula to Perfect Figure – Anne Collins Weight Loss Program Review

April 16th, 2011 No comments

Anne Collins spent 23 years in the nutrition field and as a professional weight loss consultant. She made a program that allows you to reduce weight by learning to change your personal eating habits no matter how many weight loss programs you tried and failed. Her system includes no use of diet pills and supplements that most believe aids in loosing weight. There is no prohibited food, when you feel of having it just go, give your self a treat. She formulates this as a hungry free diet. Some diets restricts you of eating foods you want that leads most in skipping meals and being hungry.

In being hungry you have the tendency to eat more to have satisfaction and this would affect your diet. She provides a realistic view of change in your eating habits that most programs missed to offer. Her weight loss program includes 9 complete Diet Plans which are 28 days low glycemic diet that makes blood sugar stable, low carb diet, 14 day low calorie booster diet, balanced diet of 1100 calories per day, cholesterol lowering diet, vegetarian “quick start” diet for those who want to reduce their meat consumption, vegetarian diet for life that helps healthy vegetarian eating, 10 minute meals diet, and diet for life that is a lifelong teaching of healthy eating.

And lastly Anne Collins provides spirit of motivation for dieters unlike any others. Her weight loss program provides a simple procedure that needs a full commitment from the dieters to be successful, power up your diet with a true will power.

what meal plan should i use on the hcg diet if i am vegitarian?

March 14th, 2011 1 comment

what meal plan?
and how long should i keep it up for?
(cuz i heard that if you don’t eat meat after about a week you’ll start to gain weight…instead of lose)
and do you have to have the full 500 calories a day?
or could i just go with water all day, plus green salad and half a grapefruit for lunch and dinner?

wow!
There is so much wrong here it is crazy.
ANY woman needs a minimum of 1200 calories per day just to survive.
The HCG diet is a scam based on 60 year old science. Did you know it is approved as a fertility drug but not as a weight loss drug?
It only acts as a placebo while you lose weight eating only 500 calories per day. Most of the weight will be gained back after the 42 day treatment.
Get your money back if you can and get your butt in the gym!

Weight Loss Through a Sensible Diet

October 15th, 2010 3 comments

For many people weight loss is one of the biggest challenges they face. It can take a bit of motivation to really get on top of your weight, but what people don’t realise is that it does not have to be that hard. Most people know what they have to do to lose weight; eat less and exercise more. We all know that, but how much do you need to exercise and how much less do you need to eat. Weight loss all comes down to the calorie differential between the calories you eat compared to the calories you burn. When you burn more calories than you eat, you WILL lose weight.

So then next question that needs to be asked is, how many calories does my body burn? Most of you will be pleasantly surprised at how many calories you burn each day for doing nothing. Let say for instance you were a female that weighs around 70kg, you will burn around 1900 calories per day. This is without any exercise! For weight loss, throw in some light exercise and restrict your calorie intake to around 1500 calories per day and you will lose around 0.5kg a week.

The biggest key in weight loss then becomes a proper diet. Did you know that there is over 250 calories in a bottle of coke? Or that there is over 300 calories in a slice of chocolate mud cake? You can certainly keep the foods you love in your diet, however for weight loss, moderation is the key. You need to be clever about food substitutions. Instead of having a slice of cake, have a healthy muffin. Have a can of tuna or some vegetables with dip. You need to come up with between 5 to 10 healthy snacks that you know you like and have the pre-prepared that way when the cravings come on you can go straight for your healthy snacks. It is the binge eating that really hinders weight loss progress so it is important to keep your body fuelled regularly with heavy food so you are not feeling hungry all the time.

Make sure you write out your goals. Studies have shown that people that write out their goals are twice as likely to succeed with reaching their weight loss goals. Start off by making them reasonable and something you know you can achieved. Then, when weight loss actually happens, you can reset your goals and make them more challenging.

The key for weight loss is keeping your energy balance in check. A great site that does all this for you is Australian Lifestyle & Fitness. They have a range of weight loss tools that allow you to keep track of all aspects of your health and fitness, and keep you motivated for sustained weight loss.

Weight Loss and Dieting Plan

August 30th, 2010 5 comments

Many of us like to ask some general questions about their weight and dieting plan.As I know , In the middle ages a fat lady was supposed to be the symbol of fertile mother earth and thus was considered beautiful. But now circumstances have been changed like, a women who walked with the

heavy step of an elephantand solid busts considered less attractive and the idea to be as thin as a bamboo pole with solid busts came to be more attractive.

Many have suggestions that this concept arises after world war I and II, due to the scarcity of food, it became fashionable to look slim and trim. Some good suggestions for weight reduction are do not eat between meals( For this you can take help of diet pills like phentermine etc.), espicially not all those chips munched before the TV. It can badly affect your appetite and can ruin your skin too.Fried things, not vegetables like potatoes, pastries and cakes are definitely no no!!

Eat slowly and chew thoroughly. If you can’t resist yourself between meal snacking then you can satisfy your hunger with salads and fruit. I heard from one of my friend that he lost 4Kg in a month with the Israeli army diet. First 2 days only apples, the next two days only cheese and the

last 2 daysonly boiled chicken. No tea or cofee or any other liquids, except water or fresh juice.

But if your grand parents and parents are fat, how do you expect to looklike Naomi Campbell?Sometimes thyroid gland secretions alos cause extreme obesity or extreme thinness. But if you maintain your diet taking some appetite suppressants, you can reduce your weight. A normal person need about 2000 calories per day and if you reduce to 1000 calories, you will lose weight. Calories are in butter, cheese, pastries, cakes, puddings, sweets, soups, sauces, cocoa chocolate, dried beans and dried fruit.Less calories are found in spinach, fresh fruit and salad. green leafy vegetables have less calories.

Some people say that exercising like cycling can make fat legs slim and trim. But according to me exercise makes matters worse. Avoid cycling which is a muscle-developing exercise. Even swimming and dancing aggravates matters. Exercise is under 2 headings: reducing and developing. People used to think if you drink plenty of water, you would become slim, but sometimes it does exactly the opposite. You retain water and that makes up fat.

Many people wants to firm up their stomach. For this you have to learn to brace it in and up, and you should not let it sag, like as if you are dropping it into a bag at the bottom of the tummy? The style of walking with the tummy-in behind-in by models is an exercise in itself. Do not walk with shoulders hunched. The tummy should be up and in , and the hips slightly forward. Also while walking, take a deep breath and pull your tummy muscle in. Exhale slowly, but do not let your tummy out. This will will remind you sagging all over the place!

Sometime I stand before the bathroom mirror while I am washing my face or anything else, and I can see the pull in tummy exercise playing on the abdominal-muscles. Learn to do it automatically. But it is tiring to lift up your tummy like that because you are not used to using those muscles, but when it becomes second nature, it becomes easier. There are several exercises for the tummy. Lie flat, breathing deeply in and out. Divide each breath into 3 little jerks, pulling your tummy in at each little jerk. Let your breath out without buging the tummy. Do this in the few groups of 6, with a good rest in between.Lie down flat, hook your feet under a piece of furniture and put your hands under the head. Then try to rise to a sitting position without lifting the feet from the floor.

Lie down flat keeping the knees straight and the toes pointing forwards. Move your feet so that the toes pointing up and, at the same time lift up the head to look. Then relax. Repeat the exercise 7 times.

Some exercise about the ever expanding hips. Crouch with arms hunched about knees, as if you are getting ready to run a marathon. Then sway your body to and fro, backwards and forwards with emphasis on the leg muscles. You can also lie face down on the floor,, with the chin resting on the back of your hands. Then slowly lift your head up from the ground, which is quite difficult because at the same time you are trying to lift up your legs, one at a time also! Do this very slowly.

Now come to the thunder thighs. Actually they look extremly nasty instead of tasty. So that is why I am giving you a real nasty dose of exercises. Lie on your back and double your knees to your chest.Keep your feet together, then shoot both the legs about to right. Then slowly pendulum-wise, rotateyour legs to the left and then to original position again. Rotate your legs this way about 7 times to each side.Rest for a minute and then do some ait bicycling, with yourself still lying down. See, how a baby rotates its legs, follow the same procedure.A easy exercise for the thighs is stand straight, swing and touch your toes toes, left-right left-right. Good fro your waist, good for your thighs.

Why the Slim Fast Diet is so Popular

August 27th, 2010 5 comments

The Slim Fast Diet is a very popular and effective weight loss program that has been around for over thirty years. Many individuals prefer this diet to other diets because it is easy to follow and convenient.

So what exactly is the Slim Fast Diet and why is it so recommended? The Thompson Medical Group created Slim Fast in 1977. The plan consists of having a shake for breakfast, another one for lunch and a reasonable dinner. Dieters can also enjoy two Slim Fast snacks during the day. Slim Fast has a get started plan to help you lose up to six pounds in just two weeks. The plan recommends no more than 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day along with daily exercise of at least thirty minutes. According to the Slim Fast website, most people lose at a rate of one to two pounds a week.

The shakes include the original shake, the Optima, low carb, high protein, and Easy-to-Digest which are lactose and gluten-free. Slim Fast’s products include great tasting meal replacement shakes that come in a variety of flavors such as creamy milk chocolate, French vanilla and strawberry. The shakes can be bought in ready to drink cans and in easy to use powder. Then they have the Meal-On-The-Go bars and craving control snack bars. The shakes and bars have the perfect blend of fat, protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins and minerals, so you can stay strong and still lose weight. They come in an assortment of delicious flavors such as creamy milk chocolate, French vanilla and strawberry. Slim Fast has even designed soups and pastas to satisfy even the hungriest dieter.

Slim Fast’s website has free online support from registered dieticians along with a ton of helpful diet tools. Users get customized diet and fitness plans that help them figure out how many calories a day they need and includes menu plans based on their Slim Fast choices, a BMI calculator, weight loss tools, healthy recipes and eating out guide, and a community support forum where other users can chat online and find weight loss buddies. The focus of the plan is on healthy eating, portion control and exercise. Success stories are posted on the website for other dieters to view.

Almost every major retail store across the United States carries the Slim Fast products. Many celebrities have endorsed Slim Fast through the years including super model Rachel Hunter, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford and Tommy Lasorda. Rachel Hunter is part of Slim Fast’s new “Find Your Slim” campaign that includes a weight loss contest for dieters.

Overall, the Slim Fast diet appears to be a reasonable diet program that is easy to follow. It stresses the importance of portion control, eating healthy food and exercise along with incorporating Slim Fast products into a balanced low calorie diet. Slim Fast is one of the few diet plans that has the doctor-tested research to back up its claims of weight loss. Slim Fast could certainly be used successfully for weight management and a healthy lifestyle. The diet works better when combined with Hoodia supplements. Hoodia is a plant that grows in the African desert and is well know for its health properties and its ability to curb the appetite. The ability of Hoodia to suppress the appetite improves the success rate of the Slim Fast diet. You can try Hoodia supplements from the Hoodia Diet Plan website and use it along with the Slim Fast Diet.

Why Most Diets Cannot Lose Weight Permanently?

August 24th, 2010 No comments

At last I have know the reasons why normal dieting plans won’t work and I will tell you why these 3 diet plans mostly do not work for people who really want to lose weight.

There are 3 known dieting plans: Low Calorie Diet, Low Fat Diet and Low Carb Diet. These dieting plans won’t really lose weight.

Why Low Calorie Diet Won’t Work For You

The main reason you cannot lose the extra weight by taking less calories each day is because your body metabolism will eventually know how much is your calorie intake and start to burn less calories each day.

Example, if you reduce your calories intake by 1,000 and start eating 2,000 calories per day, your body will notice soon and cause you metabolism to burn 2,000 calories instead of 3,000. Even if you reduce your calories intake further by 1,000, your body will automatically adjust your metabolism rate to burn only 1,000 calories. This is why you may not see the result you want by not able to eat the food you love.

While you see some of your friends who eat 4,000 calories, food they love but they do not gain much weight.

Why Low Fat Diet Won’t Work

You won’t lose weight or that fat around your waist by using Low Fat Diet. Even though low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, but how many people actually lose weight or fat by adopting low fat diet. Instead some people are getting fatter by taking low fat food. Why suffer by taking low fat food you do not like when you do not see the results. I would suggest that if you use this low fat diet plan and not lose any weight or fat, stop it. Do not waste time or effort on things that do not work.

Low Carb Diet Won’t Work

Actually low carb diet make you miserable. You might probably find it very hard to get slim using this low carb diet plan. Maybe they are too strict and too difficult to follow for most people.

Why is low carb diet plan strict? Do you know that a good low carb dieting plan means you cannot even eat a large apple for the first two weeks. And there are many food you cannot eat. How will you enjoy a meal with your friends, family and love ones by following low carb dieting plan?

Therefore normal dieting plans won’t help you to lose weight easily and permanently.

So how to lose weight permanently? I believe most of you are search for the answer, especially mothers who have given birth to children. Most of you may want to lose weight by dieting as you may not have extra time to spend in cardio exercise to lose weight. Dieting seems to be the best way to lose weight as it is not time consuming. But why most of you are unable to lose weight using dieting plans? You do not know the facts about your body metabolism, how it works and how to cause your body to work for you and not against you.

There is a little secret about dieting. It is known as calories shifting. What it means is deceiving your body about your calories intake and then your body metabolism will continue to burn higher calories even though you are taking less calories.

Example, you have managed to deceive your body to burn 4,000 calories each day, and you start to take 2,000 calories each day, your body metabolism will continue to burn 4,000 calories each day. That means you are burning more calories, extra 2,000 calories!

This little secret is not known. If you know how to use this secret in your diet, you will be amaze and glad.

May you have success to your weight loss.
