What are some diets and workouts that work?

February 20th, 2013 3 comments

I need to lose weight but it’s hard when you don’t know any diets or workouts that work. I don’t eat a lot and I do go to the gym but I need a diet and workout that helped people lose weight., thanks in advance!

I have read good things about the paleo diet (caveman diet), but you have to have a strong enough will power to do it. Also with that diet you have to really watch everything you eat to make sure you are getting enough vitamins.

I don’t use this diet though, I just eat healthy, but I have no "forbidden" foods. It is easier to stick with a diet when you don’t feel like you can’t eat your favourite foods. I still have ice cream and sweets, but in moderation.

you should also make sure you are getting enough calories, to few calories an cause weight gain because your body thinks it is starving and will store anything you eat as fat.

Drink lots of water. No more pop if you are serious about losing weight fast.

For working out, anything that gets your heart rate up is good. Some people can handle the mundane running on a treadmill, or running out side. Others prefer more engaging activities like zumba or boxing. Try a few different thing to see what you like.

Don’t forget to do weight training. Big muscles increase metabolism.

Good luck!

Which of the following is considered a fitness goal?

January 3rd, 2013 3 comments

A. Relaxing for 10 minutes once a week
B. Obtaining optimal weight where you feel your best and you have healthy eating habits
C. Developing muscles only by lifting weights
D. Watching a physical exercise program on television

B because everything else is what you can do to work towards a goal, not the goal itself

How does yo-yo dieting mess up our metabolism?

November 20th, 2012 3 comments

People say after dieting on and off its harder to lose weight. Why is that?

Yoyo dieting is bad over all but it also stresses your metabolism. Since you diet a certain way for a long period of time (your regular habits), your body is used to the way you do things. Your body is aware of when and how much you usually eat etc. so it digests accordingly.

When you starve your self all of a sudden for awhile, your body uses up all your stored energy and digests slowly so that you will not run empty. So by changing your diet so dramatically and suddenly, you force your body to go into emergency mode basically.

After your period of starvation, you are bound to eat again, but even if it is VERY little, your body will be like "oh my god! food, what do I do?" but by then, your metabolism would’ve gotten used to being that certain way. It’s like going from 100 to -1, it’s very difficult, if possible, to get your body back into a healthy state. Even though you might loose those pounds after a hard week of eating next to nothing, you are bound to gain some back, then it would be very difficult to use a proper healthy diet to change your body.

Dangers of yoyo dieting: your body resorts to consuming energy and nutrients from your muscles, which will leave you will decreased mobility. people who go on crash diets have higher chances of going blind, getting arthritis and diabetes. and plus, why would you always want to look tired?

Is pilates a really good form of exercise?

November 16th, 2012 1 comment

I am currently trying to loose weight, and so far its going well. In 5 weeks I have lost 11 pounds (5 kilo’s) through basic healthy eating and would like to exercise more. I hate the gym, and have just taken up pilates… I certainly felt it working the next day!! But does any one know if long term it will aid my weight loss?

Yes, Pilates will help you, but in itself it is not enough. For healthy weight loss that you can sustain long-term you need to combine healthy eating habits (which you’ve started doing – congratulations!) with cardio training (brisk walking, cycling and such like) and resistance work like pressups, squats and so on which build and strengthen muscles. Pilates does its bit by strengthening your inner muscles which makes the rest of your exercise much more effective.
If you hate the gym, try getting a Personal Trainer to teach you a home programme, or go to some classes. You don’t need to love exercising – you just need to DO it!!
Best of luck.

What diet can i follow to get a body fat level under 10 percent?

June 17th, 2012 3 comments

Im at about 17 percent body fat and im 20 years old. I am doing interval training now and i was wondering what diet would be best to start showing abs? would a low carb diet work? or a 1500 calorie diet? or any advice from people below 10 percent what diet gets results the fastest thanks!

Hi Ethan.

Make sure that though your are getting less calories, you are also getting plenty of protein. I suggest that you eat lean meat like chicken, grass fed beef, and pastured pork. Those are food with high nutrient content but can give you plenty of protein to help you develop muscles. Also grass fed meats are rich in CLA, an essential fatty-acid that helps burn fat while increasing muscle mass.

This is an article about the benefits of CLA for dieters like you:

India’s 40lb Weight Loss with Before and After Pics!

December 4th, 2011 19 comments

This was by far the most difficult video I’ve ever had to make. The emotions that go along with weight gain and the process of trying to lose it came out. I am pleased with my progress but it was hard to look at were I came from. I was in denial! But it was a reminder that I don’t want to go back to my previous weight. I hope that I inspire some of you to join me on this journey. I will use my testimony to reach as many of you as I possibly can. I thank God for giving me the strength to stick with this and the opportunity to share it with the world!
